يعاني طفل بريطاني من حالة غريبة حيرت الأطباء، وهي فقدانه الشعور بالجوع والعطش .
وأكد الأطباء المشرفين على حالة Landon Jones إبن الـ 12 عاماً، أن حالته هي الوحيدة في العالم، كما أن المرض الذي أصابه نادر جداً.
أما Michael Jones والد الطفل، فقال إن إبنه بدأ يشعر بدوار شديد واعترته نوبات سعال غريبة، وقد بينت الأشعة السينية، انه مصاب ببكتيريا في الرئة اليسرى، ولكن بعد علاجه تماماً، لم يعد اليه الشعور بالجوع، على الرغم من انه يشعر برائحة وطعم المأكولات التي تقدم له، إلا ان الرغبة في تناولها لا تظهر عنده.
وبالرغم من الفحوصات الطبية المختلفة التي أجريت للصبي، إلا أن الطاقم الطبي لم يتوصل لنتيجة مفيدة، ومن الممكن أن يلجأ الأطباء الى استخدام انبوب يوصل الغذاء الى معدته مباشرة.
